Paris Metro Line 13 is considered the longest line in all of Paris. It contains both tourist destinations as well as stops to the suburbs of the city. Some well-known stops include: Saint Denis, which houses the stadium for the French football team, Champs-Elysées-Clémenceau, which sends travelers to the famous Champs-Elysees avenue and the Arc de Triomphe,  and Montparnasse- Bienvenüe, which can take riders outside of Paris due to its immense train station. Because it reaches so many parts of Paris, Metro Line 13 is known for overcrowding. Before the branch break, Saint-Lazare is often met with frustrated riders, having to wait for a second or third train because the amount of people packed into the carts. In 2003, it is estimated that the number of riders jumped from 40 million to 64 million after the expansion of the line. To combat the upset travelers, the station has undergone restoration, especially the Basilique de Saint-Denis stop. The line has also incorporated the automatic electric doors protecting riders from having an accident and falling onto the tracks or incoming trains. The trains themselves are also going under refurbishment to make the travel from station to station more comfortable.
