The tedious task of creating an entire underground transportation system for a city was handed to Fulgence Bienvenü in the late nineteenth century. And in 1900, the first line was open to the public. Since then, the Paris Metro System has undergone expansion and reconstruction to better facilitate transportation for riders. Travelling by metro has made me experience the city more. Its made me more connected to the people, making me have a sense of pride in this community, in the city of Paris.
